Taking place in Downtown L.A – the epicenter of NBA All-Star Weekend, the Sports Business Classroom Business of Basketball: All-Star Intensive was designed by industry leading professionals as a strategic gateway for the basketball business leaders of the future.

THE BUSINESS OF BASKETBALL: ALL-STAR INTENSIVE CURRICULUM:
Accepted participants will learn directly from teachers and speakers who are at the forefront of each subject matter, gaining comprehensive insights across the entire curriculum.

While both programs provide a high-level, behind-the-scenes education in the business of basketball, they offer two distinct learning environments and experience formats:
EVENT & EXPERIENCE FOCUS
The Immersive in Las Vegas takes place during NBA Summer League and offers students a multi-week, choose-your-path experience with “majors” that allow for deeper specialization.
The All-Star Intensive in Los Angeles is a premium, fast-paced program held during NBA All-Star Weekend, delivering a more concentrated curriculum across all subject areas.
LOCATION
- Las Vegas: Primarily hosted at the Virgin Hotel and Thomas & Mack Center, with programming integrated into the NBA Summer League environment.
- Los Angeles: Hosted at various locations across Downtown L.A., designed to leverage the energy, events, and access unique to NBA All-Star Weekend.
CURRICULUM STRUCTURE
- Immersive (Las Vegas): Students select a specific track or “major” to focus on (e.g., Media, Scouting, Business Ops), tailoring their learning experience.
- All-Star: Intensive (L.A.): Students focus on Basketball Operations Skills, Team Building Strategy, League Salary Cap, Modern Day Athlete Representation, Scouting, Video and Analytics, The Global Basketball Ecosystem, Innovation and Technology in Basketball, and Creating Your Path.
TERM PROJECT
- Immersive: Students complete a Mock Trade Deadline simulation, applying their track knowledge in a front-office style team exercise.
- All-Star Intensive: Students work on an NBA Expansion Franchise Buildout, developing strategy, operations, branding, and basketball decisions for a hypothetical new organization.

Both programs are rooted in learning the business side of basketball through expert-led lectures, panels, hands-on simulations, and real-world immersion into the NBA ecosystem.

The Sports Business Classroom All-Star Intensive curriculum is being developed by some of the most respected minds in basketball. Including Bobby Marks, Eric Pincus, Tommy Sheppard, Albert Hall, Howard Beck, and others.
The curriculum is being developed by the same group that puts on the industry recognized, widely respected Sports Business Classroom Business of Basketball Immersive Experience in Las Vegas.
All attendees will get exclusive access to NBA Crossover which is a large fan-facing event held during All-Star Weekend. It is a cultural exhibition, expo, and immersive playground for basketball fans that blends sport with culture: music, art, fashion, tech, and entertainment.
The All-Star, VIP, and Hall of Fame experience includes access to the NBA Rising Stars game. Which is an All-Star Weekend event showcasing the NBA’s top young talent.

No. The All-Star Intensive programming allows for all students to experience all facets of the business of basketball.
Transportation and lodging are not included in the price of tuition.
This allows for attendees to make all arrangements on their own. Sports Business Classroom offers a partner hotel rate at E-central Downtown Los Angeles.
Absolutely and recommended. The All-Star intensive program is complementary but different from the Immersive curriculum.
The All-Star intensive program is a stand alone experience that offers exclusive access to NBA All-Star festivities.
Tuition for the Sports Business Classroom All-Star Intensive includes access to all 5 days of program sessions, exclusive access to NBA Crossover, access to Bobby Marks’ CBA Mastery Course ($997 value), and morning snacks and lunch each day.

HOW ARE CLASSES STRUCTURED AT
SPORTS BUSINESS CLASSROOM?
Content is delivered in various formats in order to maximize learning opportunities, effectively deliver a wide variety of content, and provide students with direct access to some of the best minds in the business.
The Sports Business Classroom Business of Basketball program content formats are:
- Lectures: One-hour, instructor-led sessions. Each topic has multiple lecture sections – e.g: 101, 201.
- Roundtables: One-hour moderator-led panel discussions with industry experts.
- Term Project: In a series of exercises conducted throughout the week, you will work with a small team of students to take over an NBA front office, analyzing its strengths and weaknesses, and determining its goals, your strategy for reaching those goals, and tactics for executing your strategy. You will then put your plans to the test in SBC’s famous Mock Trade Deadline. Afterward, you will present your results to SBC’s panel of instructors and industry executives. Every team will receive constructive feedback, and one team will emerge victorious.
- SBC Summit: Grab lunch and sit back while an NBA coach or executive talks about his or her personal experience and what it takes to succeed in this business.
