Sports Business Classroom is excited to announce that Dan Rosenbaum, former Executive Director of Basketball Strategy & Analytics with the Atlanta Hawks, will be a featured presenter for the 2018 SBC session.
As a featured speaker at the 2018 Sports Business Classroom, Rosenbaum will be part of an all-star lineup of sports business executives that are teachers and presenters. Previous years at SBC have featured NBA Commissioner Adam Silver, Washington Wizards Head Coach Scott Brooks, ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, Ned Cohen of the Philadelphia 76ers, Toronto Raptors GM Masai Ujiri, and the Vegas Summer League’s very own Warren LeGarie.
SBC Speaker Bio: Dan Rosenbaum
Dan Rosenbaum is a former Executive Director of Basketball Strategy & Analytics with the Atlanta Hawks, analytics consultant with the Cleveland Cavaliers, a senior economist in the Economic Policy Division of the White House Office of Management and Budget (OMB), a senior economist with the White House Council of Economic Advisers, and an assistant professor (with tenure) at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro (UNCG). Dan’s role with the Hawks and Cavaliers included advising on free agency, trades, the draft, game preparation, and short- and long-term strategy. Dan’s role with OMB was to infuse more empirical evidence and economic analysis into decisions made by OMB and other White House policy officials. Dan played a leadership role in government-wide program evaluation efforts. Dan taught several graduate-level econometrics and data analysis courses at UNCG; his research was mostly in the areas of the earned income tax credit and other low-income programs. Dan has a PhD in Economics from Northwestern University, was a college football player at the University of Dayton, and was part of national championship teams in football in college and baseball in high school.

Immersed in the Las Vegas Summer League, Sports Business Classroom 2018 will play host to two training and educational programs: The Business of Basketball and The Executive Session focused on the league salary cap.
Designed for those looking to break into the sports business world, the six-day Business of Basketball program will give attendees the opportunity to learn from and interact with top executives while performing real exercises in scouting, video, analytics, social media, digital branding, broadcasting, and the league salary cap.
Designed for league and team personnel, agents and accredited media, the Executive Session will provide a deep dive and advanced analysis focused on the league salary cap. Participants in the Business of Basketball program who are majoring in the league salary cap will learn shoulder-to-shoulder with industry personnel enrolled in the Executive Session.
