Sports Business Classroom is excited to announce that Eric Jackson, Vice President of Content Operations for NBA Digital, will be a featured speaker for Social Media, Digital Branding & Broadcasting major during SBC 2018.
As a featured speaker at the 2018 Sports Business Classroom, Jackson will be part of an all-star lineup of sports business executives that are teachers and presenters. Previous years at SBC have featured NBA Commissioner Adam Silver, Washington Wizards Head Coach Scott Brooks, ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, Ned Cohen of the Philadelphia 76ers, Toronto Raptors GM Masai Ujiri, and the Vegas Summer League’s very own Warren LeGarie.
SBC Speaker Bio: Eric Jackson – VP of Content Operations – NBA Digital
Eric Jackson currently serves as the Vice President, Content Operations where he is responsible for managing the execution and strategic operation of NBA Digital content and remote operations. He oversees the delivery of NBA content, studio and non-studio operations and budgets, sponsorship execution and various personnel decisions across NBA Digital platforms including NBA TV, NBA.com and NBA Digital Mobile.
Eric was formerly the Executive Director, Content Operations where he had similar responsibility and Vice President of Business Operations, where he was responsible for managing the overall operations and daily execution of strategic and tactical initiatives of NBA Digital. He also was Program Director for Turner Broadcasting System’s Enterprise Performance Office and was Program Manager for the NBA Digital Partnership. He successfully shepherded the launch of NBA LEAGUE PASS, including the debut of NBA LEAGUE PASS BROADBAND as a stand-alone product for the 2008/2009 season. Jackson also coordinated the International digital ad serving platform migration for Turner’s Ad Sales in Asia and Latin America.
Prior to working for Turner, Eric spent 20 plus years in the food manufacturing industry, where he played key leadership roles in engineering, project management, product development, operations, organizational improvement, business development and six sigma deployment. He earned a reputation for identifying and analyzing process improvements and business growth opportunities and successfully developing and implementing optimal solutions. Most recently, Eric was Director of Contract Manufacturing for the Bama Companies, a supplier of food products to the restaurant and retail industry, where he oversaw all activities related to outsourcing products from conception to distribution. Prior to his tenure at Bama, he worked in various engineering management capacities for Hill’s Pet Nutrition, Kraft General Foods, and Ralston Purina.
Eric is a graduate of Tuskegee University with a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering and holds a Masters of Business Administration from the University of Georgia’s Terry College of Business. He served as Co-Chair of Black Professionals at Turner, was a participant in the inaugural Time Warner Chairman’s Challenge, is a member of the National Association for Multi-Ethnicity in Communications, the National Association of Black Journalists, and Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. He has received various commendations for his community service work.
About Sports Business Classroom
Immersed in the Las Vegas Summer League, Sports Business Classroom 2018 will play host to two training and educational programs: The Business of Basketball and The Executive Session focused on the league salary cap.
Designed for those looking to break into the sports business world, the six-day Business of Basketball program will give attendees the opportunity to learn from and interact with top executives while performing real exercises in scouting, video, analytics, social media, digital branding, broadcasting, and the league salary cap.
Designed for league and team personnel, agents and accredited media, the Executive Session will provide a deep dive and advanced analysis focused on the league salary cap. Participants in the Business of Basketball program who are majoring in the league salary cap will learn shoulder-to-shoulder with industry personnel enrolled in the Executive Session.
